Tuesday will be a big day for American Idol. Let's do a celebrity chat about this new judge. Paula Abdul was a talented choreographer and singer. What does Ellen Degeneres bring to the judging table? She is a comedian who does dance on her show? Can she sing, I don't think so. Let's face she doesn't even dance very well.
She joins a panel of judges who have a vast amount of musical expertise.
So you might ask? Why Ellen? She is a celebrity with her own show and she has a big fan following. There is the answer, Fox has hopes that some of her fan base will follow her to Idol.
Idol's popularity has been faltering, they are competing against one of the best show on TV, NCIS. Fox wants to boost their ratings, and they are hoping Ellen will bring the ratings boost they need.
Only time will tell whether they have placed high hopes on a celebrity who has no musical expertise, and whether she can deliver that ratings boost Idol needs.

Ellen Degeneres shows her lack of support for Writer's
Ellen DeGeneres crossed Writers Guild picket lines to tape her show Tuesday, the New York Post's Page Six gossip column reported.
"There's a writers' strike going on, and here in Los Angeles, it's a huge story," she told her studio audience. (The episode will air Friday.)
"I want to say I love my writers. I love them. In honor of them today, I'm not going to do a monologue. I support them and hope that they get everything they're asking for. And I hope it works out soon. In the meantime, people have traveled across the country. They've made plans. They're here. I want to do everything I can to make your trip enjoyable and give you a show."
But on a blog called Surgical Strikes, a person purporting to be a former writer for "The Ellen Show" says he's not surprised that she crossed picket lines, given that she treated her writers "like [expletive]."
"We'd watch her in rehearsals, smiling and winning us over with her charm and comic timing. Then the director would yell cut, her face would fall, and she'd level a glare at the writers. 'Why do you keep writing these unfunny jokes?' she'd hiss.
"Ellen frequently eviscerated the head writer and ... boasted of the changes she'd make in season two, starting with his firing," the writer says, claiming to be a former writer for her 2001-02 sitcom.
"I'm disappointed in Ellen [for crossing the picket line] but not surprised ... given what I've seen from her with my own two eyes," the writer adds.
So maybe there is another to the Ellen we see as charming and friendly, seemingly nice and willing to help people.

Ellen Degeneres VS Moms and Mutts The Saga Continues
The saga continues. Moms and Mutts vs Ellen Degeneres. America is in an uproar about this story, the celebrity who adopted Iggy the dog and violated the terms of the contract.
The big bad animal shelter, Moms & Mutts came to the house and ripped the dog right from the arms of little girls .Every one is crying and casting blame. But meanwhile where is poor little Iggy. Poor Iggy has had to adjust to many changes in a little over a month. BUT now he is back in the shelter.
After contracts and rules are broken every day. Why not to make a little dog and two little girls happy?
Check out the videos coming from Ellen Degeneres and Moms and Mutts. Maybe some blossoming writer will make a TV movie out of it. Stranger things have happened?
BUT the heart of the matter is: Unless Moms & Mutts have a good reason not to why don't they just give Iggy back to the little girls?
Hopefully a happy ending will be found for Iggy.

Ellen Degeneres VS Moms and Mutts
On her show Ellen Degeneres sobbed out a story about Iggy a dog she adopted from Moms and Mutts. Ellen was unable to keep the dog because of the high energy level of the dog and he didn't get along as well with her cats as she would have liked.
She gave the dog to her hairdresser and her family. The hairdresser has two children who loved the dog.
BUT there are certain rules in animal adoption it seems Moms and Mutts where Ellen adopted the dog from called to check on the dog. Ellen told them she had given the dog to her friends. The agency went and took the dog back.
Ellen took the matter to her show, but wouldn't it have been better to try to settle this another way.On the Ellen Show crying about the dog brought death threats and many calls to Moms and Mutts. I do believe some of Ellen's tears were real BUT there were some fake ones in there too. She obviously did not want this in front of the tabloids so how better to defuse the situation and make yourself look very sympathetic but to come on TV crying and apologetic.
I do believe Ellen loves animals and I believe she did not think she was doing anything wrong by giving this dog to a good home rather then see him go back to a shelter. BUT there again so many animals are abused every year, shelters are more protective then they use to be.
Hopefully this story will have a happy ending the little girls will get Iggy back
and Iggy will have a good home.
