Jeff bridges Oscar Nominee

Jeff Bridges has long been one of my favorite celebrities. He has been acting since he was a child. From Seahunt as a child to his latest Oscar nominated role as a washed up country singer named Bad Blake. His appearance is certainly Oscar worthy. And I must say as a long time fan, he deserves an Oscar but we all know many actors worthy of Oscars never receive one. Let's hope Jeff will not be one of those.

On The View he talked about his long love story with his wife Susan, they met in 1975, and married in 1977. He is clearly still in love with her,as he blew kisses to her for Valentine's Day, and spoke about how beautiful she is. Isn't it wonderful to see love lasting amidst the stress of Hollywood?

I have to say after seeing his ongoing devotion to his wife, I admire him even more. It is about Oscar sits on his mantel. Kudos to Jeff Bridges!

Celebrity Chat Ellen Degeneres Debuts on American Idol

Tuesday will be a big day for American Idol. Let's do a celebrity chat about this new judge. Paula Abdul was a talented choreographer and singer. What does Ellen Degeneres bring to the judging table? She is a comedian who does dance on her show? Can she sing, I don't think so. Let's face she doesn't even dance very well.
She joins a panel of judges who have a vast amount of musical expertise.

So you might ask? Why Ellen? She is a celebrity with her own show and she has a big fan following. There is the answer, Fox has hopes that some of her fan base will follow her to Idol.
Idol's popularity has been faltering, they are competing against one of the best show on TV, NCIS. Fox wants to boost their ratings, and they are hoping Ellen will bring the ratings boost they need.
Only time will tell whether they have placed high hopes on a celebrity who has no musical expertise, and whether she can deliver that ratings boost Idol needs.

This is It! Michael Jackson Movie

I won't be going to see Michael Jackson's last performance, I am actually not a fan but he was a talented celebrity and a tormented soul according to all reports.
If Michael had lived this concert tour would have most probably have amazed and delighted all his fans, he was dedicated to his music and his fans and he worked hard to please the fans.
He left a musical legacy for the world the dancing, the music, the costumes and the amazing sets. On this tour he wanted to give a performance that astounded his fans and the world and wanted to showcase his music. The studio is looking to make tons of money, but this is a chance for Michael Jackson fans to get a glimpse of how the concert might have turned out if he had lived to perform on the concert tour.
How dies a person become so tormented that in the end they leave this world much too soon? Why do drugs become a daily part of a person's life ? the world will mourn this talented man and tormented soul. So for those fans out there see This IS It and enjoy Michael's last performances.

Jon and Kate Plus Eight and several other women

Everywhere we look it is Jon and Kate plus eight. Kate is a brash kind of cranky woman who seems to think the world revolves around her. Why? Because we as the public let her think it does. We worship her and the fact she has had eight children. Of course she is not the first to have eight, what about the octomom. She and Kate are having children to bring them fame and fortune and it is coming to them. As far as I can see, neither of these women are talented or beautiful enough to warrant the attention they are getting. Now Kate is going to be co hosting the View, of course a couple of those ladies are lacking any apparent talent, so I guess it is not a stretch.

Richard Widmark passed away at Age 93!

Richard Widmark established himself in American cinema with his debut in the 1947 film Kiss of Death (1947) in which he won a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award nomination as the killer "Tommy Udo". Kiss of Death (1947.) Widmark became a star in the post-World War II era along with fellow post-War stars Kirk Douglas and Robert Mitchum'
Widmark brought a new kind of character to the screen in his character leads and supporting parts: a hardboiled type who does not actively court the sympathy of the audience, deeply conflicted, or just down right deeply corrupt characters. After his debut, Widmark would work steadily until he retired at the age of 76 in 1990, primarily as a character lead. His stardom would peak around the time he played the U.S. prosecutor in Judgment at Nuremberg (1961) as the 1950s segued into the 1960s, but he would continue to act for another 30 years.

Widmark played psychotics in The Street with No Name (1948) and Road House (1948), and held his own against new Fox superstar Gregory Peck in the William A. Wellman's Western, Yellow Sky (1948), playing the villain, of course. When he finally pressured the studio to let him play other parts, his appearance as a sailor in Down to the Sea in Ships (1949) made headlines: "Life" magazine's March 28, 1949 issue featured a three-page spread of the movie, headlined, "Widmark the Movie Villain Goes Straight". He was popular, having captured the public imagination, and before the decade was out, his hand and foot prints were immortalized in concrete in the court outside Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.
Elia Kazan cast Widmark in his thriller Panic in the Streets (1950) not as the heavy - that role went to Jack Palance - but as the physician who tracks down Palance, who has the plague, in tandem with detective 'Paul Douglas'. Widmark was establishing himself as a real presence in this genre.
Having proved he could handle other roles, Widmark didn't shy away from playing heavies in quality pictures. The soon-to-be-blacklisted director Jules Dassin cast him in one of his greatest roles, as the penny-ante hustler Harry Fabian in Night and the City (1950). Set in London, Widmark's Fabian manages to survive in the jungle of the English demimonde, but is doomed. Widmark was masterful in conveying the desperation of the criminal seeking to control his own fate but who is damned, and this performance also became an icon of film noir. In that same year, he appeared in Oscar-winning writer-director Joseph L. Mankiewicz's "No Way Out" as a bigot who instigates a race riot.

As the 1950s progressed, Widmark played in Westerns, military vehicles, and his old stand-by genre, the thriller. He appeared with Marilyn Monroe (this time cast as the psycho) in "Don't Bother to Knock" (1953) and made "Pick Up on South Street" that same year for director Samuel Fuller. His seven-year contract at Fox was expiring, and Zanuck - who would not renew the deal - cast him in the Western Broken Lance (1954) in a decidedly supporting role, billed beneath not only Spencer Tracy but even Robert Wagner and Jean Peters. The film was well-respected, and it won an Oscar nomination for best screenplay for the front of Hollywood 10 blacklistee Albert Maltz.

In 1961, Widmark acquitted himself quite well as the prosecutor in producer-director Stanley Kramer's "Judgment at Nuremberg" (1961), appearing with the Oscar-nominated Spencer Tracy and the Oscar-winning 'Maximilian Schell', as well as with superstar Burt Lancaster and acting genius Montgomery Clift and the legendary 'Judy Garland' (the latter two winning Oscar nods for their small roles). Despite being showcased with all this thespian-firepower, Widmark's character proved to be the axis on which the drama turned.

Im the 1970s, he continued to make his mark in movies and, beginning in 1971, in television. In movies, he appeared primarily in supporting roles, albeit in highly billed fashion, in such films as Sidney Lumet's "Murder on the Orient Express", Robert Aldrich's "Twilight's Last Gleaming", and Stanley Kramer's "The Domino Theory" (1977). He even came back as a heavy, playing the villainous doctor in "Coma" (1978). In 1971, in search of better roles, he turned to television, starring as the President of the U.S. In the TV movies " Vanished." His performance in the role brought Widmark an Emmy nomination. He resurrected the character of Madigan for NBC, in six 90-minute episodes that appeared as part of the rotation of "NBC Wednesday Mystery Movie" for the Fall 1972 season. He lived quietly and avoided the press, saying in 1971, "I think a performer should do his work and then shut up.". "
Richard Widmark was a talented actor who could play many types of roles, and I was fortunate to see many of his moviesa and also his TV series Madigan. REST IN PEACE Richard Widmark!

Marie Osmond Dedicates dance to Her Dad

Marie Osmond did a great performance of the quick step to Bugle Boy. She dedicated the performance to her Dad, He passed away early Tuesday the day after the performance.
My sympathy to the Osmond family.
George Osmond married his wife, Olive, on Dec. 1, 1944. She died in 2004. The couple were the parents of nine children, many of whom became singing stars. Alan, Wayne, Merrill and Jay Osmond first became famous as The Osmond Brothers, a barbershop quartet singing at Disneyland and on "The Andy Williams Show."

Together, Osmond and his wife formed the Osmond Foundation, which later became the Children's Miracle Network, a nonprofit organization that raises funds for children's hospitals.

Robert Goulet loses his Fight

Robert Goulet passed away,he will be missed. Robert Goulet had an amazing voice and an amazing career. One of his fans was Frank Sinatra.
"Robert Goulet was a monumental presence on the stage and had one of the great voices of all time, which often overshadowed his many other talents," pianist Roger Williams said in a statement yesterday. "He really could do it all - act, dance, and was as funny as hell, especially when he was making fun of himself. Robert always took his craft seriously but never took himself seriously. Oh, how we will miss this great guy."
With his dark hair and blue eyes, Mr. Goulet was the personification of a Kennedy-era leading man. Judy Garland called him a living 8-by-10 glossy, and Truman Capote called him the "poinsettia of botany."
Beside his matinee-idol looks was that distinctive singing voice, which Mr. Goulet's father considered a gift from God.

Upon hearing Mr. Goulet sing "If Ever I Would Leave You" during the first day of rehearsals for "Camelot," Richard Burton called it "the voice of an angel."

I remember Robert Goulet singing in our living room when I was young. My Mother was a big fan of his and even though I was in to much different music, I could recognize talent and actually liked some of his music. One of my favorites was If Ever I Would Leave you. As a teenager I thought it romantic and beautiful.
Rest in Peace Mr Bob Goulet. The world will miss you.

Rest In Peace Robert Goulet

how marie Osmond's whining impacted the American Public

The voting public should be ashamed. Last night on Dancing With The Stars one of the best dancers was voted off. It was not because she didn't have a lot of fans. After she is a Cheetah Girl. I personally had no idea what a Cheetah girl was before this show. But I have grown to like this little cute blond girl. Sabrina Bryan has worked hard and received the first perfect score on this season.
Unfortunately she was competing against older women who were quick to come out in public whining and complaining about ageism on the judges part. So America , feeling sorry for the old broads voted for the two of them.
Now don't get me wrong I am an old broad. I have a lot of admiration for Jane Seymour but she id not the best dancer, ans she has a lot of fans. No Marie Osmond has done nothing but whine, whine, and when she wasn't whining her brother Donny came on other shows and criticized the other dancers.. Sorry Donny, but Last i knew you were not an expert on ball room dancing.
Yes Marie Osmond and Jane Seymour both have done admirable things in their lives but they are not worthy of winning of winning Dancing With The Stars.
I do wish Marie Osmond would quit trying to win the public with her tea and sympathy act. People popularity is part of it but look at how they dance.
Sad to see you go Sabrina.

Marie Osmond Can she be any more whiny?

Marie Osmond has-been in the entertainment business since she was a child, she has smiled and flashed her pearly whites across many stages and venues around the world.
I can honestly say I have never been a fan of the Osmonds ,Marie, The Marie and Donny show, their sweetness is just not my cup of tea or my preference in music.
BUT I was impressed by her first few appearances on Dancing With The Stars. After all she is 45 +. The fact she felt confident enough to compete against younger people on a dancing show gave me some respect for her. She gave a couple of decent performances because she is a veteran entertainer.
BUT as the competition increased it became harder for her. She struggled to give
better performances. Marie just was not able to do it. Then she started to whine. One of her excuses for not being able to do something was she had too many babies. Yes, she does have eight children, but she only gave birth to three of them. While adopting five children is an admirable thing to do, it has no effect on her body.
Even the much publicized fall was brought on by her hyperventilating which she could have controlled She admitted she holds her breath in certain circumstances, so she should have been more careful. I feel the fall was used to gain her more votes and it seemed to work. She stayed on the show another week.
Now the latest is age discrimination. Oh Get over it,Marie. What excuse will you use next?
Marie Osmond said :
“I think they’re trying to get the older chicks off the show, and I say shame on them,” Marie said to OK! after she and fellow over-50 contestant Jane Seymour earned the lowest scores of the night on Monday night. “I mean, come on — compare us to a 20-year-old! We’re doing good! That’s why you appreciate the viewers and their voting.”

The New Star Trek Movie-No Captain Kirk.

The New Star Trek Movie-No Captain Kirk.

I am a long time Star Trek fan, much longer then I care to admit. Now I am not a star trek convention attendee, but I do love the show and the characters. Of course one of my favorite is THE MAN Captain James T Kirk, the babe magnet of Outer Space.
As I grow older I still find him very sexy, and I have followed his career and been a loyal fan. TJ Hooker and now Boston Legal are two of my favorite shows.
But even though this new Star Trek movie is a prequel with a young James T Kirk, there is room for Mr Spock, Leonard Nimoy. Nothing against Leonard, I think he is great. But there should be part for William Shatner, Captain Kirk in a Star Trek Movie.
"I couldn't believe it. I'm not in the movie at all. Leonard, God bless his heart, is in, but not me," Shatner, 76, told The Associated Press on Thursday. "I thought, what a decision to make, since it obviously is a decision not to make use of the popularity I have to ensure the movie has good box office. It didn't seem to be a wise business decision."
It seems like a bad decision to me, a loyal Star Trek fan, and I hope all of the multitudes of Trekkies out there will feel the same. How can there be Star Trek without Captain Kirk.
Now I do realize he died after one of the Star Trek movies, but In sci-fi there is always hope for rebirth, just like Mr Spock. So I think JJ Abrams is making a big mistake no including Captain Kirk in the New Star Trek Movie. There are tons of Shatner fans out there. But I guess time will tell.

Heidi Klum & Seal Still In Love

Heidi Klum has a special story of how she met her husband Seal."I met him in a hotel lobby in New York City and he came in just from the gym and I was sitting there and I was, like, wow," Klum tells Oprah Winfrey on her shows Superstar Couples episode.

Wow, as in Seal was wearing bicycle shorts.

"And I pretty much saw everything," says Klum. "The whole package."

From that moment on, they have kept their passion going. Now they are the proud parents of three beautiful children.
Heidi and Seal do a duet on his latest album. It is a song he wrote for Heidi on their Wedding Day, called "Wedding Day." How romantic is that? This couple seem very much in love. good Luck to them in the future.

John Goodman on Yahoo Buzz

I checked out the Yahoo Buzz today to see John Goodman on the movers list. I was happy to see his name there and of course curious to know why. I clicked on it only to see John Goodman Death as one of the choices. Well, I was very saddened. Not only is John Goodman one of my favorite celebrities, He is a young man, at least to me, he is a little younger then me.
When I investigated further, I realized that it was not about John Goodman's death but rather about a movie he is in. Death Sentence in which he plays Bones Darly, an arms dealer and the boss of a drug ring. A different part for John. He had done many different parts through out the years. Some of my favorites are King Ralph, O Brother Where Art Thou?, Blues Brothers 2000 and of course the lovable Dan on Roseanne.
Of course earlier this year John won an Emmy for his role on Studio 60.
The latest news about John Goodman is that he reports that he has just completed treatment at Malibu's Promises Treatment Center."For my family and myself, I voluntarily took the necessary steps to remain sober the rest of my life," Goodman says in a statement. Let's wish this very funny entertaining man Good Luck!
I want to say i am quite relieved to see that the reason for John Goodman's name on The Buzz List wa snot about his death.

Vanessa Anne Hudgens Was she fired by Disney because of Nude Scandal?

Vanessa Hudgens has had a busy summer. She is only eighteen, nude pictures of her have been released, she may or may not broken up with her boyfriend Zac Efron, and rumors abound that she has been fired by Disney. Kind of a hectic summer but many speculate that she or someone in her camp released the nude photos. Lots and lots of rumors are flying about this young lady.
But, I think no one should judge her too harshly, we all make mistakes and she is very young. Disney should still cast her in High School Three. Let her learn from her mistakes and let us not be so quick to condemn her.
Good Luck Vanessa Anne Hudgens with your career. hopefully the next year will be better for you.

Ellen Degeneres VS Moms and Mutts The Saga Continues

The saga continues. Moms and Mutts vs Ellen Degeneres. America is in an uproar about this story, the celebrity who adopted Iggy the dog and violated the terms of the contract.
The big bad animal shelter, Moms & Mutts came to the house and ripped the dog right from the arms of little girls .Every one is crying and casting blame. But meanwhile where is poor little Iggy. Poor Iggy has had to adjust to many changes in a little over a month. BUT now he is back in the shelter.
After contracts and rules are broken every day. Why not to make a little dog and two little girls happy?
Check out the videos coming from Ellen Degeneres and Moms and Mutts. Maybe some blossoming writer will make a TV movie out of it. Stranger things have happened?
BUT the heart of the matter is: Unless Moms & Mutts have a good reason not to why don't they just give Iggy back to the little girls?
Hopefully a happy ending will be found for Iggy.

Unusually Stupid Celebrities: A Compendium of All-Star Stupidity

We love our celebrities, they keep us entertained, help us keep our minds off our own problems. But let's face it some of them make the stupidest comments. I bought this book and I haven't stopped laughing. Check it out,you will enjoy it. Here are some of the excerpts below:

War

Celebrity Solution: Anus-smelling

Actor Dustin Hoffman puts his proboscis in the, er, meat of the matter when it comes to preventing war:

“When a lot of dogs are on the beach, the first thing they do is smell each other’s asses. The information that’s gotten somehow makes pacifists out of all of them. I’ve thought, ‘If only we smelled each other’s asses, there wouldn’t be any war.’ ”

(Note: Hoffman, unfortunately, did not offer further explanations on how to decipher the meaning of said ass-scents, nor did he delineate the preferred method of ass-smelling.)
World Problem #3a: The environment

Another Celebrity Solution: Shit in the woods

Drew Barrymore realizes the way to saving the environment is for all of us to live more in tune with nature. Drew—who, incidentally, earns about $15 million a film—spent some time in a primitive Chilean village for an MTV series. “I aspire to be like them more,” she raved (perhaps ignoring their high infant mortality rate and short life expectancies). Highlight of her visit?

“I took a poo in the woods hunched over like an animal. It was awesome.”

Ellen Degeneres VS Moms and Mutts

On her show Ellen Degeneres sobbed out a story about Iggy a dog she adopted from Moms and Mutts. Ellen was unable to keep the dog because of the high energy level of the dog and he didn't get along as well with her cats as she would have liked.
She gave the dog to her hairdresser and her family. The hairdresser has two children who loved the dog.
BUT there are certain rules in animal adoption it seems Moms and Mutts where Ellen adopted the dog from called to check on the dog. Ellen told them she had given the dog to her friends. The agency went and took the dog back.
Ellen took the matter to her show, but wouldn't it have been better to try to settle this another way.On the Ellen Show crying about the dog brought death threats and many calls to Moms and Mutts. I do believe some of Ellen's tears were real BUT there were some fake ones in there too. She obviously did not want this in front of the tabloids so how better to defuse the situation and make yourself look very sympathetic but to come on TV crying and apologetic.
I do believe Ellen loves animals and I believe she did not think she was doing anything wrong by giving this dog to a good home rather then see him go back to a shelter. BUT there again so many animals are abused every year, shelters are more protective then they use to be.
Hopefully this story will have a happy ending the little girls will get Iggy back
and Iggy will have a good home.

They are invited to present the award together . Now rumor has it that the lovely Miss Aniston would like to have an affair with the sexy hot 007,Daniel Craig. Her fantasy would be that she would be a beautiful spy playing poker in Monaco.
Sounds pretty exciting to me. Wouldn't they make a great couple?
