Rick Springfield on Google Hot Trends

Rick Springfield Jessie's Girl

Rick Springfield comes up on the Google Hot Trends list, and he is doing a wonderful deed that everyone should know about. Rick has a Christmas CD dedicated to the troops.

Christmas With You is a collection of spiritual holiday music and carols delivered with a traditional style and flavor. The title song, written by Springfield and Derek Hilland, is dedicated to the troops serving this country in the Iraq war and all proceeds generated will be donated to support the US Military Veterans organization, American Gold Star Mothers, Inc. The video (seen below) is not a political statement, but a video to honor these brave men and women.

Rick Springfield is one of the most successful male solo artists of the early 80's. Songs like "Jessie's Girl" and "Don't Talk To Stranger's" made him an 80's radio staple. Rick enjoyed multi-genre success due to also starring on the ABC soap opera General Hospital in the early 80's. He reprised his role of Dr. Noah Drake on the drama in 2005.
And I must say Rick Springfield is every bit and hot as he was in the eighties. He looks good and sounds good and is a good man. Quite a combination. His wife is a lucky woman.

Michael Flatley Just Amazing

Michael Flatley was on Dancing With The Stars tonight. He was just amazing. He only does rare appearances on TV. I felt fortunate to see him perform. He gives me chills with his precision and his steps and dance form are just breathtaking. He is still Lord of the Dance to me.

Michael was ill last year and had to cancel some appearances on his tour. He makes rare appearances and I hope to have the opportunity to see him.
Some interesting facts about Michael, he was actually born in America. He has several homes one of which is Castle Hyde in Ireland which he is restoring.
His first child was born this year. He was also a Golden Gloves Boxer, and a construction worker.

Dance was in his blood. Though Michael was born and raised in the United States , he often visited family in Ireland . His mother and his maternal grandmother, Hannah Ryan, were both champion Irish dancers. Hannah taught Michael his first few steps at the age of four and always encouraged him to follow his heart and his dreams. Years later, when these dreams became reality, an empty front row seat at every show marked his silent tribute to the late grandmother he so adored.

"She once visited me in Chicago in an ice cold winter. At that time I was completely broke, working occasional jobs for a couple of bucks an hour, dreaming of becoming the greatest dancer in the world. It was she who encouraged me to make my life special and to dance. Two weeks later she died. The empty seat is a sign of my respect to her, for I believe she is still watching me."
Michael Flatley is an interesting and talented man who will amaze you with his talent and entertain you at the same time.

Sexy Matt Damon!

"You've given an aging suburban dad the ego-boost of a lifetime," Damon told People, suggesting that American football superstar Tom Brady should be honored with the tag instead. "At the risk of being forward, if you asked me (which you didn't) I would suggest Patriots quarterback Tom Brady for this award. He's like a taller, better-looking version of me anyway. Plus, he's the best quarterback in the history of football."
Matt Damon's humility makes him even more sexy. He tried to turn down the award, citing he didn't feel worthy to be the 'Sexiest Man Alive.' He follows in the foot steps of two friends of his George Clooney and Brad Pitt."George Clooney and Brad Pitt have shamelessly campaigned for him since 2001, but all it takes is one look at Damon's piercing blue eyes, crooked smile and family-guy demeanor to understand why he has been chosen," the magazine said in a statement.
Damon is married to Luciana Bozan, they have a one-year-old daughter, Isabella, and a nine-year-old stepdaughter with wife Luciana Bozan.

"My nine-year-old stepdaughter now thinks I'm cool - well, cooler," Damon said in a letter to be published in People's latest edition on Saturday.
Damon is a talented actor and each movie shows his talent growing. Congratulations Matt!

Ellen Degeneres shows her lack of support for Writer's

Ellen DeGeneres crossed Writers Guild picket lines to tape her show Tuesday, the New York Post's Page Six gossip column reported.
"There's a writers' strike going on, and here in Los Angeles, it's a huge story," she told her studio audience. (The episode will air Friday.)
"I want to say I love my writers. I love them. In honor of them today, I'm not going to do a monologue. I support them and hope that they get everything they're asking for. And I hope it works out soon. In the meantime, people have traveled across the country. They've made plans. They're here. I want to do everything I can to make your trip enjoyable and give you a show."
But on a blog called Surgical Strikes, a person purporting to be a former writer for "The Ellen Show" says he's not surprised that she crossed picket lines, given that she treated her writers "like [expletive]."
"We'd watch her in rehearsals, smiling and winning us over with her charm and comic timing. Then the director would yell cut, her face would fall, and she'd level a glare at the writers. 'Why do you keep writing these unfunny jokes?' she'd hiss.
"Ellen frequently eviscerated the head writer and ... boasted of the changes she'd make in season two, starting with his firing," the writer says, claiming to be a former writer for her 2001-02 sitcom.
"I'm disappointed in Ellen [for crossing the picket line] but not surprised ... given what I've seen from her with my own two eyes," the writer adds.
So maybe there is another to the Ellen we see as charming and friendly, seemingly nice and willing to help people.

The Ellen and Iggy Saga Continues

Next week Entertainment Tonight promises news on Iggy, the cute little dog that created quite an uproar around the country. They have found Iggy and they promise to let America know how he is doing.
He is probably quite confused, First he is with Moms and Mutts, a shelter. Then Ellen Degeneres and Portia De Rossi adopt him. They can't keep him because they say he is too active for their cats. The he goes to Ellen's hairdresser with her family. Then Moms and Mutts takes him and now he is placed in a "good home" according to Moms and Mutts.
That seems like a lot of bonding for a cute little guy.
I hope with the new publicity this will bring to Iggy, there will not be another uprooting of poor little Iggy

Kellie Pickler at CMA Awards

Kellie Pickler at CMA I Wonder

"You weren't there to braid my hair, like the others do," Pickler sings in "I Wonder." "You weren't around to cheer me on, help me dress for my high school prom, like mothers do."
In the words to her hit song Kellie Pickler lets loose all the sadness of her Mother leaving her when she was two. At the CMA awards Kellie broke down.
Of course her Mother has a different story, she says she left because her husband was abusive.
Kellie is not ready to welcome her Mother back into her life, who can blame her?
Kellie's mom, Cynthia Malone, says that she was forced to leave her child because of an abusive relationship with her then-husband, reports People magazine. "I knew God had to have a purpose for [Kellie] because there was too many times I would have miscarried because of all the hitting and beating on my stomach," Malone told the Charlotte Observer in July.
This is not Kellie’s first time dealing with parental problems. During her stint on “Idol,” her father, Clyde Raymond Pickler, was serving time in jail. After being released, he encountered more problems after reportedly being arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman with a steak knife.
It is a wonderful story for Kellie success despite the odds being against her.

Marie Osmond Dedicates dance to Her Dad

Marie Osmond did a great performance of the quick step to Bugle Boy. She dedicated the performance to her Dad, He passed away early Tuesday the day after the performance.
My sympathy to the Osmond family.
George Osmond married his wife, Olive, on Dec. 1, 1944. She died in 2004. The couple were the parents of nine children, many of whom became singing stars. Alan, Wayne, Merrill and Jay Osmond first became famous as The Osmond Brothers, a barbershop quartet singing at Disneyland and on "The Andy Williams Show."

Together, Osmond and his wife formed the Osmond Foundation, which later became the Children's Miracle Network, a nonprofit organization that raises funds for children's hospitals.
